AIRPORT AREA UPDATE
PPC rating of 5 (five) is now in effect. (Confirmed June 30, 2009) Per ISO, the maps will not be updated until October 1, 2009. Any homeowner updating or purchasing homeowners insurance needs to make sure they are receiving the proper rating. If your insurance agent has any questions, have them call Ms. Potia Stewart of Insurance Services Office, Inc. @ 800-444-4554 Option 2. She has assured Cedar Key Fire Department she will confirm the above properties have a Public Protection Classification of 5.

EFFECTIVE DATE: August 1, 2008
The following criteria applies to properties in the Cedar Key Fire district:
Class 5 applies to properties within 5-road miles of our Fire Station located on 1st Street and within 1,000 feet of a fire hydrant.
Class 8b applies to properties beyond 1,000 feet of a fire hydrant but within 5-road miles of our Fire Station.
Class 10 applies to properties over 5-road miles of our Fire Station.
